The Fundraising Institute – Australia: Victorian Review of fundraising (September 2004)

Orfeus Research provided specialist research and policy advice to the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA), Australia’s national peak body for fundraisers. In July 2004 Consumer Affairs Victoria, the agency responsible for the regulation of fundraising in Victoria released a Discussion Paper outlining the terms of reference for a review of the Fundraising Appeals Act 1998 that called for written submissions and responses from interested parties. Orfeus Research assisted the CEO and Board of the FIA in preparing their submission to the Victorian government’s review of the Fundraising Appeals Act. Research for the submission was conducted into a range of areas related to fundraising and the not-for-profit sector including:
  • Defining fundraising
  • Community confidence in fundraising
  • Models for fundraising regulation
  • The costs of fundraising ratios
  • Mutual recognition and national harmonisation of fundraising regulation.
A copy of the FIA’s submission is available at http://fia.e-newsletter.com.au/#FIA_Newsletter

Orfeus Research will also be working with the FIA throughout 2005 on a range of strategic organizational reviews.
